Bim & sTRUCTURAL mODELING pROGRAM
Junior Level
This program provides a fundamental introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) with a focus on structural modeling. Participants will learn how to create, manage, and understand building models using BIM tools, and how different disciplines interact within a digital model.
Target Group
- Students and recent graduates
- Junior engineers
- Professionals transitioning into structural engineering
Practical Project
- Participants will develop a basic BIM model of a building and deliver: 3D structural model Basic drawings (plans, sections) Description of BIM workflow Simple technical report (composition)
Learning Content
- Introduction to BIM concepts and workflow
- Understanding BIM in construction projects
- Introduction to structural modeling
- Basic modeling of elements (columns, beams, slabs)
- Introduction to families and parametric elements
- Basic coordination concepts Introduction to drawings from BIM models
Learning Outcome
- By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand BIM workflow in construction projects
- Create a basic structural BIM model
- Model essential building elements
- Generate basic drawings from models
- Understand coordination between disciplines
